While former teammates Russell Westbrook and James Harden came into Saturday’s game with much-discussed streaks – Westbrook with eight straight triple-doubles and Harden with 28 consecutive 30-point games – Thunder forward Paul George has been widely considered with Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo as a top MVP candidate.
George is averaging a career-high 28 points per game, making 40.8 percent of his 3s, while averaging a career-best 7.9 rebounds.
"I think it may be the best he’s ever played," Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said. "He’s having a phenomenal year. He’s good. That’s saying something because he’s always good.
"Guys like James, they get better. They keep working on their game. They get better. It looks like he’s gotten better as James has. He’s just playing really well."
